Original coloured pencil drawing of a spoonbill on nice heavy weight paper. I just loved the cheeky expression on this guy's face when I saw the photo, because in it, he had just caught a frog and was covered in muck and algae from the pond he was standing in. Despite being all gross and dirty he was so happy to have caught something. I wanted to focus on this joyous expression and capture just the parts that I loved, so I drew his face as I saw it - bright, and full of life.
I managed to complete this one in one week, which is pretty quick for me!
He's a cute little guy :)
